Population of 923, and I think I've met them all now. I went into a pizza shop on Friday night. When I walked in, everyone turned to look at me.
"Who are you?" someone asked.
That's what people here say when they see a stranger.
I introduced myself to some people the other day.
"Hi, I'm Maya, I'm running The Broadway Hotel for a couple of weeks while Sue is away."
"Yes" the women replied, "we know."
According to the 2000 census, the racial makeup of P'burg is 95.08% white, 1.97% mixed, 1.31% Native, 0.44% Asian and 1.2% from other races.
23.6% of the town is under the age of 18, 6% between 18 and 24, 20.5% from 25-44, leaving 49.9% of the population 45 and over. That's slim pickins my friends.
